How Can I help?

Disordered Eating + Body Image

Disordered eating, eating disorders, and body image shame are isolating, and they make life smaller and smaller over time. Together, we will work to expand your life by changing how you relate to your inner world. We learn how to find freedom and peace around food and how to form a trusting relationship with your body.

All bodies are welcome and cared for in the same manner, and I love working with athletes and those who consider movement to be sacred in their lives.

Anxiety + Depression

Anxiety could be thought of as that vibration in your chest, the constant and increasingly noisy hum in your head, or the consistently intensifying heat in your belly. Depression is sometimes that dull, heavy haze that seemingly anchors you in a place of hopelessness. Both of these feelings, however you experience them, can isolate us from our tribe, our work, school, and everything we love.

I can help you relate to your inner experience differently, to feel everything more effectively, and help you reconnect with your values despite these heavy feelings being present. The goal is to lift the haze and cool the heat in your chest that are keeping you from engaging with the present moment and what you love.

Overcontrol: People Pleasing + Perfectionism

Self-control can be a powerful skill to develop, but like most everything in life, we can have too much of a good thing. Self-control can, for many reasons, transform into maladaptive overcontrol. This manifests as low receptivity and openness, low flexible control (eg. hyper-perfectionism), low emotional awareness, and low social connectedness and intimacy with others.

We will work together to increase openness, flexibility, and social connectedness. This involves learning how to actively seek what makes us uncomfortable in order to learn from an ever-changing environment. Essentially, we learn to live radically open to life.

Other Concerns

The human experience is infinitely complex and varied, so there is no way I can summarize everything one may be going through in a few boxes. If you want to work with me but don't see your concerns listed, please reach out and ask if I might be a good fit. If I am not equipped to help with your unique needs, I will do my best to assist you in finding a clinician who can address your needs.
